COURSE SYNOPSIS
Cellulite and Detox
On this one-day course students will visit the clinical features and contributing factors of cellulite.
Appropriate essential oils will be identified that treat cellulite and facilitate detoxification. Body
scrubs and clay masks will be prepared and used in a treatment sequence that students will be able
to incorporate into their own practice.
Indian Head Massage
‘Champissage’, originally developed in India by women as part of their grooming routine, has
become an integral part of their family life. On this course students will study the anatomical
aspects, benefits and contra-indications of this most relaxing of treatments and will give and receive
a complete Indian Head Massage.
Plant Science (2-day)
This two-day course focuses on the biology and chemistry of plants and essential oils and includes
aspects of safety, and allergic reactions. Students will learn how to use this knowledge to best
effect when selecting and blending essential oils for specific situations.
Viral & Respiratory infections
The arrival of the H1N1 virus – or “swine flu” – caused quite a stir during the summer of 2009 and
forecasts of its increase during winter months generated considerable concern. On this course
students will study the most appropriate and effective aromatherapy approaches to the prevention
and treatment of viral infections and the respiratory system.
Stress management
Students will be encouraged to assess their own stress levels and consider the most appropriate
essential oils and approaches to address imbalances.
Chemistry & therapeutic blending (1-day)
Starting with volatility, students will re-visit the molecules that comprise the various chemical
component groups of essential oils and their therapeutic effects. Students will learn how to use this
knowledge to best effect when selecting and blending essential oils for specific conditions.
The Female Hormonal Journey
From birth through the menarche to the childbearing years, pregnancy and childbirth, the
menopause and beyond – aspects affecting female hormonal balance and their resolution will be
addressed on this comprehensive day.
Pamper day for therapists
Therapists are expert at advising others to relax and to be kind to themselves, but are less good at
doing it themselves! This day offers the opportunity for all therapists to take time out and
remember what it feels like to be pampered. Many give-and-receive treatments.
Mix and make aromatic gifts
Prepare those gifts for Christmas and birthdays in an enjoyable environment with all materials
supplied. Students will be able to prepare gifts to take home
Palliative Care Course:
The course is aimed at Aromatherapists who are considering working in the field of palliative care or
those who are just embarking on such a course of action.
The mechanics of delivering aromatherapy to palliative care patients is not radically different to
conventional practice, but it is the aspect of patient care and understanding the needs of individual
patients that the course is centered on together with the synergy of working alongside clinical care.
The course will consider the following elements:
An overview of “End of Life” care (including Palliative Care)
The common symptons experienced in “End of Life” care
Dealing with Confidentiality issues, Boundaries that may be set and the Ethics of “End of Life” care.
Managing the symptons experienced by use of Aromatherapy
Coping with the experiences of Loss, Death and Dying

Completion of the 4 module SPICA qualification is intended to equip you step by step with the hands
on practical experience and tools to practice as a Holistic Therapist with a firm grounding in
Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and Massage Therapy.
MODULE ONE A facinating introduction to the wonderful world of aromatherapy delivered by our
college principal Louise Carta. You will learn a body massage and how to make simple health
assessments. Essential oil knowledge will begin by learning about the history of aromatherapy, the
ten most versatile oils and their uses, how to blend and treat individual people and their conditions
and the basic chemistry. This is a five day module. A Certificate of Attendence will be awarded on
completion of your course, when you will be deemed competant in home use. The certificate is also
your passport to the Aromatherapy Diploma (Modules 2-4). The charge for module one is £350.
MODULES TWO TO FOUR. Now you are ready to train to become one of our esteemed therapists
under the practical and expert guidance of Louise Carta and our tutors. These three five day
modules will teach about the various plant families, the chemical component parts of essential oils
and the therapeutic effects, olfaction, the art of blending and mixing and much more. Practical skills
will include a full body massage with lymph drainage, a necka dn shoulder massage, swiss reflex
massage and full assessment and body analysis. After the exam you will receive our Bodywork
Certificate. The charge for each module is £420 plus VAT. Exam fee is £50 + VAT.
ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY. We partner the anatomy and physiology training with Essential
Training Ltd. Class one costs £220 + VAT. Course two costs £220 + VAT. Exam fee £50 + VAT.
DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE Cant travel? Our distance learning course is ideal for you. A four
module course sent to your own doorstep including all the course notes, carrier oils, essential oils,
books and videos that you will need. Your course will be assessed by your personal tutor. The
