Robert Tisserand
Following 10 years of practice as a therapist, Robert wrote
the first book on aromatherapy in English in 1977. He has
spent many years serving on committees and advisory
boards, teaching and giving presentations. He tracks all
the published essential oil research, and his most recent
publication is Essential Oil Safety.
Tim Blakley
Tim has been involved in the herb and aromatherapy
business for nearly 30 years. He was a teacher and part
owner of the California School of Herbal Studies, creator
of the Frontier Herb Co-op Botanical Garden, land

of the National Center for the Preservation of Medicinal

Raphael d'Angelo, MD, NMD, MT
Raphael J. d'Angelo, M.D. is a holistic family physician and
naturopath who integrates essential oil therapy in the care
of his patients at the Center for Holistic and Integrative
Medicine in Aurora, Colorado. He completed his
aromatherapy training from the Australian College of
Health Sciences and studied with the Emerson College of
Herbology in Canada. Dr. d'Angelo has taught medical
aromatherapy to medical doctor candidates for the
American Board of Holistic Medicine of which he is a
charter diplomat. He has lectured on various

Jackie Farnell, LMT
Jackie has been a Certified Aromatherapist and licensed
massage therapist since 1995. She and her husband
Stuart own Farnell Clinic, LLC which is a Therapeutic
Massage and Aromatherapy Clinic in Aiken, SC.
Jackie created aromatherapy blends and protocol for
Alzheimer patients in 2001, now used in over 400 nursing
homes. This program won the "best practice award" from
SC nursing home regulators in 2003. She has consulted
with two universities on controlled studies with 200

Debbie Freund RN has been using essential oils for 20
years in private practice and is the owner and founder of

Debby Hamilton, MD, MSPH
Dr. Debby Hamilton is a Pediatrician with an extensive
background and Board Certification in Pediatrics, Nutrition
and Holistic Medicine and a Masters of Science degree in
Public Health (MSPH). She began her career as a general

Peter Holmes, LAc, MH
Peter Holmes is a medical herbalist and clinical
aromatherapist. He originally apprenticed for two years
with Cantonese master herbalist Dr. Lee in London,
England, graduated from the College of Traditional
Chinese Acupuncture in 1980 and completed herbal
medicine training at the College of Consultant Herbalists in
England. Peter apprenticed in London for two years with
medical herbalist Christopher Hedley, MNIMH, and with

Daniel Pénoël, MD
Dr.Pénoël is an internationally renowned physician and
researcher who has dedicated his three-decade career to
the therapeutic use of essential oils. He is highly
respected in the medical world for his rigorous approach
to teaching, clinical work and research.
Dr. Pénoël received his M.D. degree in France from Paris
University , Faculty of Medicine, in 1976. After graduation
until 1984, he opened and ran a busy general practice in
the vicinity of Paris. In 1985, Dr Penoel immigrated to
Australia due to an invitation to carry out research on the
aromatic flora specific to this continent. His research and
teaching enabled him to establish the medical orientation

Sonja has had a very eclectic nursing professional career.
The major part of her career has been in
leadership/administrative positions. Sonya is certified in
Integrative Aromatherapy and is the immediate past
president of the American Holistic Nurses Association. She
has had extensive experience in successfully bringing
